Second Generation Mitsubishi Lancer


In 1979, Lanver EX launched in Japan. Offered in 2 MCA Jet engine-powered 1.4L and 1.6L powered 80 hp 85 hp or 100 hp.Mitsubishi MCA-JET system is a replacement carburetor system. MCA stands for Clean Air Mitsubishi, Lancer meaning already passed emissions in Japan and the U.S.. Mitsubishi designed the new cylinder head so that the valve jet get an extra vortex air in the combustion chamber, which make more complete and efficient combustion. Lancer has also been given a technology Silent Shaft Technology to reduce engine noise and vibration. Sirius 1.8L and 1.2L engines then also launched to increase the variation model.

·         1400SL - 4-door sedan with a 1.4L engine, with manual and automatic transmissions (1979-1987). 

·         1200SL - SL with 1.2L engine (1979-1983) 
·         1400GL - SL with 3-speed automatic transmission. (1979-1983) 
·         1400SL A / T - GL with minor changes (1983-1987). 
·         1600XL - 4-door sedan with a 1.6L engine, with 3-speed automatic transmission. (1979-1983) 
·         1600GSR - 4-door sedan with a 1.6L engine with manual transmission double cab. (1981-1983) 
·         Super 1600XL - XL with a few changes. (1983-1987) 
·         1800SE - 4-door sedan with a powerful 1.8L engine 100 hp (75 kW), available with manual and automatic transmission. (1981-1983) 
·         1800GSR Turbo - 4 door sedan with a 1.8L engine with a turbocharger powered 135 hp (101 kW). (1981-1983) 
·         1800GT Turbo - GSR with a different body trim. (1981-1983) 
·         1800GSR Turbo Intercooler - Intercooler engine-powered version of 160 hp (119 kW). (1983-1987) 
·         1800GT Turbo Intercooler - turbo intercooler GSR trim body with a difference. (1983-1987) 
·         1800GSL Turbo - Like GSR Turbo Intercooler but using the engine from the GSR / GT Turbo. Automatic transmission and more luxurious cabin. (1983-1987) 

In Europe, available Lancer 2.0L 4-cylinder engine called the Lancer EX 2000 Turbo. Using the Mitsubishi 4G63 engine, this car has a power 168 hp (125kW) with maximum speed 201 km / hour.The engine is already using technology ECI (electronically-controlled Fuel Injection) so that the greater power but remains fuel efficient.
